Refractive Surgery Options: Epi-LASIK

Epi-LASIK is a surface ablation procedure similar to PRK. In Epi-LASIK, the epithelium of the eye is removed with the Amadeus microkeratome without the need for a corneal flap. Following the excimer photoablation, the epithelium is then placed back on top of the eye to provide more rapid visual rehabilitation with less discomfort than PRK. Dr. Donnenfeld was the first surgeon in North America to use the Amadeus microkeratome to perform Epi-LASIK.

Testimonials

"I had worn contact lenses for 30 years. My practice specializes in contact lenses and I had all the lenses in the world for free. One day I woke up and decided I wanted something more consistent and less frustrating. I trusted not only my eyes but my livelihood to Dr. Donnenfeld and today I can see 20/20 without contacts or glasses."
