Dr. Donnenfeld Discusses Ocular Surface Disease Diagnoses and Treatments with Fellow Experts
Dr. Eric Donnenfeld led a panel discussion on ocular surface disease diagnoses and treatments at OSN in New York. Comprised of leading ocular surface disease experts, the panelists discussed the most advanced and effective treatment options for several patients suffering from ocular surface disease. As a recognized authority in the field and OSN Cornea/External Disease Editorial Board member, Dr. Donnenfeld is routinely invited to participate in similar events that allow experts to come together and tackle some of the most complicated clinical cases in search of a cure. Prophylaxis May Be Essential in Treating Ocular Surface Disease and Inflammation
Most recently, Dr. Donnenfeld was mentioned in a published article arguing that prophylaxis may be essential in treating ocular surface disease and inflammation. In fact, the author discusses how preventative ocular disease treatment prior to cataract surgery can eliminate the development of a full-blown ocular condition, including dry eye. Dr. Donnenfeld Receives “Distinguished Service Award”
Dr. Donnenfeld was honored to receive the 2010 Distinguished Service Award from the Nassau Surgical Society. The Society’s decision to give him the award was based on his significant contribution to the community as well as the leadership he demonstrates within the ophthalmology profession. Dr. Donnenfeld traveled to Yerevan, Armenia to perform glaucoma surgery in a population that was without access to quality care. He has also spent a lot of time fostering the Nassau Surgical Society’s Annual Clinic Day, which is an opportunity for doctors to share new ideas and information with each other. These philanthropic efforts – as well as Dr. Donnenfeld’s “dignity, good grace and humor” – were recognized by the Society.
